WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley football team looked dominant in the run game during the first half of the 2025 season-opener, but the Falcons lost to West Chester, 30-13, on Yetten Field Saturday afternoon.
Bentley's third possession of the game started with just over five minutes left in the first quarter. The Golden Rams had a 7-0 lead. The Falcons opened the drive with five straight running plays to
Joshua Compoh, and he totaled 23 yards on those carries.
On third-and-four,
Luke Warnock completed a 19-yard pass to tight end
Pat Damon, down to the West Chester 23-yard line. On the next play, Edouard Telly took a handoff and broke free down the middle of the field. He was taken down just shy of the goal-line.
In goal-line formation, Damon lined up at fullback and punched in the one-yard score to tie the game.
The Falcons trailed midway through the second quarter, 10-7, when Bentley punted the ball from its 40-yard line. However, the Golden Rams were flagged for roughing the kicker on the play, and the Falcons got a fresh set of downs.
Only two plays later,
Isaiah Osgood lined up at quarterback for a designed QB draw. He took the play up the middle, then sprinted down the home sideline for a 43-yard touchdown. The big play gave the Falcons a 13-10 lead.
Unfortunately, that was the last time in the game that Bentley put points on the board.
Henry Schouten led Bentley's defensive efforts with a game-high 16 tackles, including one for a loss.
The Falcons' next game is at NCAA D-I member Bryant, Sept. 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
