Game Recap: Football |

Bentley's defense records multiple sacks and an interception against FCS Bryant

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In its first game against an FCS program since 2010, the Bentley football team lost at Bryant, 42-6, Saturday evening. Both Bentley and Bryant are original Northeast 10 members, with Bryant adding football in 1999. The Bulldogs transitioned to NCAA D-I for the 2008-09 academic year.

The last time Bentley played against a D-I program was in 2010. Central Connecticut beat the Falcons, 45-14.

Junior quarterback Isaiah Osgood came up with a big touchdown for the second time in as many weeks for the Falcons (0-2). Bentley's first possession of the second half started on its 31-yard line. On third-and-three from the Falcons' 38-yard line, Osgood hit graduate tight end Nayvon Reid for a 62-yard touchdown pass.

Last week against West Chester (Sept. 6), Osgood ran a quarterback draw for a 43-yard touchdown.

Graduate tight end Pat Damon led all players in receptions with seven. Sophomore starting quarterback Luke Warnock completed 18 of 30 pass attempts for 94 yards.

Graduate defensive back Mike DiPlacido came up with an interception of Bryant starting quarterback Brennan Myer late in the third quarter. It is the third interception of DiPlacido's Bentley career.

Junior defensive lineman Quincy Pickett, and sophomore defensive back Christian Zamor, both recorded a sack of Myer.

Bentley opens its NE10 slate Saturday, Sept. 20, against Franklin Pierce during Falcon Weekend. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
