WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley heads to Colorado for the second time this season this weekend to take on the Air Force Falcons. Game times are 9:00 pm on Friday and 7:00 pm on Saturday.
Bentley goes into the weekend after they won five of six points against Holy Cross. The teams tied 2-2 in the first game in Waltham, with the Falcons winning the shootout and earning the extra point. Bentley then exploded offensively in an 8-3 victory over the Crusaders on Saturday night in Worcester.
Those results gave Bentley a 9-1-2 Atlantic Hockey record for 30 points, which gives them a three-point lead over Holy Cross for first place. The next closest teams are RIT with 22 points and Sacred Heart with 21 points.
Air Force is behind those teams in fifth place with 18 points (6-5-1). Last weekend they were at the Desert Hockey Classic in Tempe, where they defeated Michigan Tech 8-2 and lost to Arizona State 5-2.
This will be Air Force's first AHA games in more than a month. They last hosted Robert Morris on Dec. 5-6 and split the series.
Bentley opened the 2025-26 in Colorado on October 10-11 when they played Colorado College and Denver.
The eight goals Bentley scored on Saturday was their most in a game since an 8-4 win over Mercyhurst on Jan. 20, 2024.
The 10 goals Bentley scored in the series against Holy Cross were scored by 10 different players. Three were scored by defensemen (
Alec Leonard,
Garrett Horsager and
Jack Dalton). One was shorthanded (Horsager on Saturday) and only one was on the power play (Dalton on Saturday).
Oskar Bakkevig and
Michael Mesic led the team with three points each in the series. Bakkevig with one goal and two assists and Mesic with three assists.
The all-time series between these teams is 41-23-7 in favor of Air Force.
Last season, Bentley swept a series in Waltham by winning each game 2-0. They then split a series in Colorado on Jan. 10-11 with Bentley winning the first game 1-0 and dropping the second 4-1.
The last four series these teams have played in Colorado have been split with each team winning four times, going back to the 2021-22 season.
These teams will meet again this season on the final weekend of the regular season on Feb. 27-28 at Bentley Arena.
