WALTHAM, Mass. – Parker Woodring had three touchdown catches to lead the Bentley football team to a 35-9 win over Saint Anselm Saturday afternoon in a Northeast 10 game on Yetten Field. Woodring is the first Falcon with three touchdown catches in a game since
Rashon Bradford did it against New Haven in Oct. 2024.
The Falcons (3-3, 2-2 NE10) got off to a slow start against an opponent it trounced, 48-14, in a non-conference game earlier this season in Manchester, N.H. (Sept. 12). Neither Bentley nor Saint Anselm (0-6, 0-3 NE10) scored in the first quarter Saturday.
Bentley's defense set up the first score of the game. The Hawks' first possession of the second quarter started on their own 38-yard line, but
Caleb Procaccini quickly forced – and recovered – a fumble to give the Falcon offense a short field.
Luke Warnock ultimately connected with Woodring for a 13-yard touchdown that gave Bentley a 7-0 lead.
The Hawks' ensuing possession reached the end zone, but their two-point conversion failed.
Bentley's next drive started on its own 29-yard line. Warnock connected with
Eli Batista twice for 20 total yards during the drive, including a nine-yard reception on 3
rd-and-nine. A 14-yard completion to
Peter Bibby III set up a 15-yard touchdown pass to
Cooper Marcum on a crossing route. It was Marcum's conference-leading ninth touchdown catch of the season.
Bentley took a 14-6 lead into halftime.
Saint Anselm started the second half with the ball, but the Hawks ran only four plays before turning the ball over on downs on their own 37-yard line. The Hawks ran a fake punt that ended short of the first-down marker. Bentley took advantage of another short field as Warnock found Woodring in the back of the end zone for a 12-yard touchdown completion.
Woodring's third touchdown catch went for 17 yards late in the third quarter. He finished the win with 83 receiving yards on seven catches. In just one game, the graduate transfer doubled his season total for touchdown receptions (6).
Warnock threw for 228 yards and four touchdowns against the Hawks.
Mason Andrade rushed for a game-high 90 yards on only six carries.
Kieran Campbell notched a sack for the Bentley defense, and
David Brown Jr. broke up three passes.
The Falcons are home again Saturday, Oct. 24, to kickoff against Southern Connecticut at 12 p.m.
