#15 Falcons run past Pace in second half as Hennessey breaks points record

WALTHAM, Mass. – Abi Hennessey broke Bentley's single season points record and the Falcons scored three goals in the second half in a 4-1 victory over Pace on Tuesday afternoon.

With the match tied 1-1, Bentley surged past the Setters late in the second half with three goals in a span of 12 minutes to take the 4-1 victory.

Hennessey's goal in the 73rd minute broke the previous single season points record of 30, set by Lisa Tisbert in 2001. The strike also tied Tisbert's single season goals record of 12 set in the same season.

The Falcons took a 1-0 lead on Sydney DeRoche's sixth goal of the year in the 20th minute after she headed in a cross from Rose Frisoli. Hennessey had the secondary assist.

Despite mostly dominating the match, Bentley conceded a goal by Pace's Alyssa Blanchette in the 54th minute to tie the score 1-1.

But the Falcons quickly reasserted control and went back in front in the 70th minute on a goal by Annie Vigue, with a shot from 12 yards away to the near post after taking a long pass into the box by Rachael Abbott. That was Vigue's second game in a row with a goal.

Hennessey then scored from close range in the 73rd minute after a through ball by McKay Pratt for the assist and a 3-1 lead.

In the 82nd minute, Tilly Fitzgibbons made it 4-1 with a free kick goal from just outside the penalty that nestled into the lower corner of the near post.

The Falcons improved to 11-1-2 overall and 5-1-2 in NE10 matches with the victory. They next play on Saturday night at AIC.
