WALTHAM, Mass. –
Madeline Krepelka scored two goals and assisted on another as Bentley field hockey bested AIC 4-1 for its fifth win in six games on Wednesday night.
Krepelka scored twice in a span of just over two minutes in the third quarter. The first goal, assisted by
Kaitie Ryan, gave Bentley a 3-0 lead 8:30 into the third quarter.
Just over two minutes later, she scored unassisted to give the Falcons a four-goal cushion.
After a scoreless first quarter where Bentley outshot the Yellow Jackets 3-0, they broke through five minutes into the second frame on
Layla Conway's third goal of the season.
Emily Spadorcia had the assist.
A little over five minutes later,
Sophie Manchester notched her second of the year. With the ball out in front of the cage, Krepelka knocked it forward to Manchester who was stationed on the post. She fought through several AIC defenders to get her stick on the ball for the goal.
Bentley ended the evening with a 23-4 edge in total shots and 18-2 in shots on goal. They improved to 6-8 overall.
The team's next game is at home on Friday at 4:00 pm against Adelphi.
