Bentley opens Atlantic Hockey slate at home vs. Robert Morris

Ryan Mansfield
WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley plays its first Atlantic Hockey games of the season this weekend against Robert Morris on home-ice. The series opener on Friday gets underway at 7:00 pm and Saturday's game is a 6:00 pm start.

Both games will be streamed on Flo Hockey

Game Notes

The two-time defending AHA champions have a stellar 37-15-5 record against conference opponents, including 10-0 in the playoffs, over the last two seasons. Last year, Bentley went 16-6-4 to win the AHA regular season title for the first time. They finished with 53 points, five better than Sacred Heart.

Both the Falcons and Colonials have had challenging non-conference schedules to start.

Bentley opened at home against Hockey East teams Vermont and Northeastern, with a 3-0 win over the Catamounts, before they traveled out to #3 North Dakota last weekend. Robert Morris played series against #6 Wisconsin and Miami, before they upended Penn State 5-2 in Happy Valley on Tuesday night.

Last season, Bentley won four of six points from the only series of the season between these teams, played in Pittsburgh. The Falcons won the first game 5-0 behind a Jake Black hat trick. Nicholas Bevilacqua made 24 saves for the shutout. The second game was a 3-3 tie and an RMU shootout win. Jack Dalton, Oskar Bakkevig and Peter Kramer had the Bentley goals in regulation.

The most recent Bentley-RMU series played in Waltham was in the 2024-25 season on Feb. 7-8 and it was a Bentley sweep by a combined score of 7-0.

The all-time series between these teams is tight with RMU holding a slim 21-20-5 edge.

Falcons goalie Lukas Swedin, who was the AHA Goalie of the Week on October 13, made a career-high 39 saves on Friday at North Dakota. His previous high was 38 against Air Force on Jan. 9, 2026 in a 5-1 win.

This weekend begins a stretch of eight straight league games for the Falcons. They play Holy Cross in a home-and-home series next weekend, followed by a home series against RIT (Nov. 7-8) and a series at Air Force (Nov. 12-13).
