RINDGE, N.H. – Cash McClure notched his sixth double-double of the season, and he was one of five Falcons to score in double figures during the Bentley men's basketball team's 95-73 win at Franklin Pierce Saturday evening. It was the second largest margin of victory for Bentley this season (vs. American International, 79-45, Jan. 14).
McClure totaled 15 points and 11 rebounds, and he made all eight of his free-throw attempts. He finished two assists shy of a triple double.
Chase Clarke was one rebound shy of a double-double, as he finished with 18 points and nine boards.
Cooper Farrall added 16 points, while
Mantas Zilys (14 points) and
Osiris Nalls (12 points) combined for 26 points off the bench.
It was the sixth time this season that Bentley had five players score at least 10 points in the same game.
Bentley (15-7, 8-5 NE10) held a modest 42-39 lead at halftime. Its advantage was quickly erased less than a minute into the second half when Franklin Pierce (6-17, 2-11 NE10) tied the game, 44-44 .
The score remained even, 46-46, when Clarke scored in the paint. It was the start of a decisive 15-3 run that allowed Bentley to hold a 61-49 lead. Zilys drilled a couple of 3-pointers during the run, and Nalls also hit from deep during the stretch.
The Falcons' lead stayed at double digits for most of the rest of the game.
Bentley's 55.7 field-goal percentage for the game is its second-best mark of the season (58.6-percent vs. Saint Michael's, Jan. 27), and the 95 points is the highest scoring output of the year.
