MELBOURNE, Fla. – Freshman
Sophie Jorjorian tossed a shutout in game one and
Maddie Baker delivered a walk off hit in game two as Bentley swept Felician.
The Falcons won the first game 3-0 and the second game 4-3 in eight innings.
Jorjorian allowed just two hits in a complete game shutout. She struck out three and walked just two.
Leading 1-0 in the top of the seventh, Bentley tacked on two runs. With the bases loaded, an RBI ground out by
Carly DiMento scored
Hailey Feiler. One batter later,
Michelle Diaz reached on an error and
Jess Morrison scored on the play.
Jorjorian retired the side in order in the bottom of the seventh to close out the win.
In game two, Bentley rallied from 2-1 down in the bottom of the eighth to complete the sweep.
With two runners on and no outs, a single to left by Diaz scored
Ella Bunovsky to cut the deficit to 3-2.
Baker came up next and doubled to left to score DiMento and
Caitlin Driscoll to win the game.
Next up for the Falcons is a doubleheader against St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday.
