RINDGE, N.H. – Bentley softball dropped its first two Northeast 10 games of the season at Franklin Pierce on Friday by scores of 7-5 and 13-3.
In game one the Falcons trailed 6-2 after three innings but pulled to within 6-5 after scoring three times in the 5
th inning.
With
Maddie Baker and
Emma Callahan on base and two out, pinch hitter
Bella Burke hit an RBI single to score Messina from third. With
Hailey Feiler up next, a wild pitch scored Callahan and advanced Burke to third to make the score 6-4.
Burke then stole home during the at bat by
Jess Morrison to make the score 6-5. But FPU was able to escape the inning still ahead by one run.
In the bottom of the inning Maisie Lerette homered to make it a 7-5 game. Raylee Gilbert then recorded the final six outs for the save.
The Ravens started fast in game two with a 7-0 lead after the first inning and Bentley wasn't able to recover.
These teams will play another doubleheader tomorrow at Franklin Pierce, starting at 12:00 pm.
