WALTHAM, Mass. - #11 ranked West Chester defeated Bentley 18-8 in a non-conference game on Thursday afternoon.
Callie Burchill had three goals and eight draw controls for the Falcons.
Sophia Pope and
Caitlin Keenan also notched two goals.
The Golden Rams, who improved to 4-1 on the season, were led by Sydney Wasdick and Madeline Edinger, who had six and four goals, respectively.
West Chester got off to a fast start and led 8-2 after the first 17 minutes. But the Falcons responded with a 3-0 run that took just 1:33 of game time.
Pope had the first and third goals of the run and Keenan had the second, all coming in women-up situations. That trimmed the deficit to 8-5 at the 10:11 mark and prompted a West Chester timeout.
West Chester though would score the final three goals of the first half to lead 11-5 at halftime.
Natalia Dutkewych scored just 12 seconds into the second half to make it an 11-6 game, but another run by West Chester gave them a 15-6 lead late in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Burchill scored twice just 27 seconds apart, at the 10:09 and 9:42 marks.
The Falcons next face #16 ranked Adelphi at home on Sunday in the first Northeast 10 game of the season.
