RINDGE, N.H. – Sam Belliveau continued his brilliant start to the 2026 season, and
Nick Pappas cleared the outfield fences as the Bentley baseball team split a doubleheader at Franklin Pierce Sunday afternoon.

Bentley 12, Franklin Pierce 3 (7 inn.)
Sam Belliveau improved to 3-0 on the season after pitching a complete game in Bentley's 12-3 win over the Ravens. Belliveau allowed three earned runs on six hits and a walk. He struck out six batters, bringing his season total to 27 strikeouts in 24.1 innings.
The Falcons took a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Bentley scored all four of those runs with two outs on the board.
Nick Pappas reached base on an error by the third baseman, and he came in to score on double by
Stan DeMartinis III. After
Brendan Sencaj was hit by a pitch,
Curt Heath hit a single that brought DeMartinis home.
Jimmy Mitchell followed with an RBI single of his own, and
Brian Hersh was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
David VanderZouwen drew a walk with the bags full to force in the Falcons' fourth run.
Bentley ended the game the same way that it started – with a four run running. Following an RBI double by
Jared Berardino, Pappas belted a three-run homer – his third of the year.
DeMartinis finished the game 3-for-5, and Mitchell went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Berardino and Pappas both put in a multi-hit game.

Bentley 7, Franklin Pierce 14
The Ravens built up an 8-1 lead through five innings, which proved to be too much for the Falcons to overcome in a 14-7 game.
Tommy Goonan went 3-for-5 for the Falcons, marking his third-career three-hit game – and his second this season. He hit an RBI single in the second inning.
Stan DeMartinis III hit his second RBI double of the day in the seventh inning, and he came in to score on a
Brendan Sencaj base hit.
Jared Berardino, Pappas, DeMartinis, and
Curt Heath had two hits, each.
Bentley's home opener in Saturday, March 21, when the Falcons host Southern New Hampshire for a conference doubleheader that starts at 12 p.m.
