PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Bentley dropped a pair of close games at Pace by scores of 4-2 and 3-2 in eight innings on Friday.
Game 1: Pace 4, Bentley 2
The Falcons jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second on a two-run single by
Hailey Feiler to plate
Becca Harris and
Michelle Diaz.
But Setters pitcher Priscillia Del Toro allowed just one more hit and no runs the rest of the way.
Pace tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third, then went ahead 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth on a solo homer.
Game 2: Pace 3, Bentley 2 (8 innings)
After a scoreless first three innings pitched by Bentley's
Taylor Zajac and Pace's Nikki Chandler, the Falcons took a 2-0 lead in the fourth frame.
An RBI single by
Jess Morrison scored
Breelin McDougal. After a steal of second by Morrison, the next batter
Emma Callahan singled to plate Morrison for a 2-0 lead.
Pace however scored runs in the fifth and seventh innings to send the game to extras.
In the bottom of the eighth, an RBI single by Ava Edmond gave the Setters a walk-off win.
These same two teams will close out the regular season with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 12:00 pm.
