WALTHAM, Mass. – After opening the 2026 season against the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, the Bentley football team returns to New England for a non-conference game at Saint Anselm Saturday, Sept. 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
The test from the best
The Falcons began their 2026 season with a 38-3 loss at No. 1 Ferris State (Sept. 4), but the final score is rather deceiving. Bentley put up 381 yards of total offense, 234 yards by air and 147 yards on the ground. The Falcons totaled 27 first downs to Ferris State's 21, and Bentley committed just one turnover while the Bulldogs threw two interceptions. The teams were nearly even in penalties – Bentley was flagged three times, and Ferris State committed just two penalties.
 
Put on a Bib and feast
Senior wide receiver Peter Bibby III entered the 2026 season with five career receptions for 43 yards. He went off in the 2026 opener at Ferris State, totaling 83 receiving yards on eight catches.
 
Mason hammers his debut
Graduate transfer running back Mason Andrade was outstanding in his Bentley debut, totaling 136 yards of offense against Ferris State. Andrade took nine carries for 94 yards, and he had four catches for 42 yards.
 
Linebacker debuts
Freshman Braden Smith and graduate transfer Caleb Procaccini had similar Bentley debuts at Ferris State. They each totaled 14 tackles against the Bulldogs. Smith came away with four solo tackles, and Procaccini had one.
 
Pick 'em twice
Graduate student Tyler Lane and senior Santi Quiceno each had an interception at Ferris State. Lane's career total is up to three interceptions. For Quiceno, who missed most of the 2025 season with an injury, it was his second career interception.

King Henry's boot
Freshman punter Henry Hughes totaled 226 yards on five punts (45.2) at Ferris State. His long for the game went for 52 yards.
 
Recent history between the birds
Bentley beat Sain Anselm, 28-14, in Manchester, N.H. last year. Luke Warnock threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns, while the Falcons forced the Hawks into four turnovers. Bentley has won three consecutive games against Saint Anselm, and the Falcons are 10-1 against the Hawks dating back to the 2015 season. The two teams meet again in Waltham for a conference game, Oct. 17.
 
Scouting Saint Anselm (0-1)
The Hawks began their 2026 season with a 35-7 loss at Lake Erie. Jude Santana finished with five receptions for 61 yards. The Hawks' lone touchdown was a 15-yard pass from Nick Caro to Dylan Reed. Saint Anselm was picked to finish fifth in the NE10 Football Coaches' Poll. The Hawks posted a 5-5 record (4-3 NE10) in 2025.
