WALTHAM, Mass. – It wouldn't be Falcon Weekend without Bentley football. The reigning Northeast 10 champions make their 2026 home opener against Post Saturday, Sept. 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
 
Isaiah's got the goods
Senior quarterback Isaiah Osgood was named the NE10 Offensive Player of the Week after he ran all over Saint Anselm in Bentley's 48-14 win in Manchester, N.H. last week (Sept. 12). Osgood totaled 168 rushing yards against the Hawks, more than doubling his previous career high (63, twice in 2025). Osgood broke loose for an 82-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter last week.
 
Mr. 300
Junior quarterback Luke Warnock had the first 300-yard game (303) of his collegiate career last week. The reigning NE10 Rookie of the Year also threw three touchdown passes without an interception against Saint Anselm.
 
On the Marc
Junior tight end Cooper Marcum set his single-game career highs for receptions (7), receiving yards (101), and touchdowns (2) at Saint Anselm last week.
 
Bibby on the rise
Senior wideout Peter Bibby III entered the season with only five career receptions, but he is quickly establishing himself as one of the most sure-handed receivers in the NE10. Bibby enters this weekend ranked second in the NE10 for receptions (12), and he ranks third in receiving yards (156).
 
1,800 feet
Bentley totaled 597 of offense at Saint Anselm, nearly hitting the 600-yard mark for the first time since 2013 (vs. Pace).
 
Tested by the best
The Falcons began their 2026 season with a 38-3 loss at No. 1 Ferris State (Sept. 4), but the final score is rather deceiving. Bentley put up 381 yards of total offense, 234 yards by air and 147 yards on the ground. The Falcons totaled 27 first downs to Ferris State's 21, and Bentley committed just one turnover while the Bulldogs threw two interceptions. The teams were nearly even in penalties – Bentley was flagged three times, and Ferris State committed just two penalties.
 
Linebacker debuts
Freshman Braeden Smith and graduate transfer Caleb Procaccini had similar Bentley debuts at Ferris State. They each totaled 14 tackles against the Bulldogs. Smith came away with four solo tackles, and Procaccini had one.
 
Takeaways
Bentley has forced three takeaways this season. Tyler Lane and Santi Quiceno each had an interception at Ferris State. Against Saint Anselm, David Brown Jr. recovered a fumble that was forced by Braeden Smith.
 
Standing up right
Sophomore kicker Peter Vafiadis hasn't missed a kick yet. He is 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts this season, and 6-for-6 in point-after attempts. What's more, his four touchbacks on kickoffs are tied for the NE10 lead.  
 
The Post script
The Falcons are 4-0 all time against Post. The teams first met in 2022. Bentley handedly beat the Eagles, 59-0, in Waltham last year. Luke Warnock threw five touchdown passes to four different receivers, and Isaiah Osgood had a 53-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
 
Scouting Post (0-2)
The Eagles lost their first two games of the season against West Virginia Wesleyan (Aug. 29) and West Liberty (Sept. 12). Between those two games, Tyler Phommachanh has 136 rushing yards on 35 carries (3.9), and Adonis White has 146 yards on 22 carries (6.6). Phommachanh has also thrown for 174 yards (51.9 completion percentage), a touchdown, and four interceptions. The team's leading receiver is Anthony Johnson. He has 85 yards on five catches this season.
