WALTHAM, Mass. - The two-time defending Atlantic Hockey champions hit the ice on Wednesday morning at Bentley Arena for their first practice of the 2026-27 season. 

With the start of the regular season on October 9 against Vermont fast approaching, fourth-year head coach Andy Jones and his staff put the Falcons through their first on-ice session of the season.

21 players return from last season's squad, with the breakdown being 13 forwards, six defensemen and two goalies. There were eight new players added to the roster. Four forwards, Saxton Tess, Jacob Sagadin, James Duerr and Josh Guiliani, three defensemen, Charlie Emmons, Ephram McNutt and Josh Player, and one goalie, Easton Rye.

Senior forward Kellan Hjartarson was elected team captain at the end of last season.

Notable dates for fans to watch during the preseason are on September 23 when Atlantic Hockey holds its annual media day and announces its preseason All-Conference teams. The Falcons will host an exhibition game on October 3 against Carleton University at 6:00 pm.
