Stephen Needham joined the Bentley University hockey coaching staff as an assistant coach in September, 2019. The 2021-22 season will be his 3rd with Bentley.

Needham came to Bentley after two years as the head coach at Albany Academy in Albany, New York. He was also an assistant coach at Wesleyan University for three years from 2014-2017.

Needham earned his master’s degree at Wesleyan. During the 2016-17 season there, he coached the team’s penalty kill unit to a first in the nation ranking at 91.6 percent.

Needham earned his bachelor’s degree from Worcester State in business administration in 2013. He and his wife Mary have a daughter, Norah.
