SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Bentley University men's soccer team wrapped up its most successful regular season since 2003 with a 0-0 draw at AIC Friday afternoon in Northeast-10 action.
The Falcons finish the regular year at 10-2-5 overall and 7-1-5 in the conference for 26 points. Bentley is guaranteed to host a first round playoff game on Tuesday afternoon, and will be either the third or fourth seed depending on the result of the Southern New Hampshire-Le Moyne game on Saturday.
Bentley extended its run of not conceding a goal to 584 minutes spanning the last five-plus games, despite AIC holding a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. Graduate student goalie Mike Nikiforov (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) equaled his season-high with 10 saves for his fifth straight shutout and eighth of the season. He finishes the regular season with a record of 8-2-5.
Graduate student Bill Nussdorfer (Harvard, Mass./Bromfield School) and freshman Cody Osgood (Harvard, Mass./Bromfield School) each had a team-high three shots for Bentley.
