EASTON, Mass. – Graduate student Bill Nussdorfer
(Harvard, Mass./Bromfield School) scored in the 86th
minute, less than two minutes after Stonehill scored the
match's first goal, as Bentley University tied Stonehill 1-1
on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 men's soccer.
After 84-plus minutes of scoreless play, Skyhawks freshman Kevin
Gilmartin scored at the 83:58 mark to give Stonehill a 1-0 lead.
Junior forward Michael White had the assist on the goal.
With just over four minutes to full time, Nussdorfer scored his
first of the season to equalize, with sophomore Weston Zeiner (North Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) on the
assist.
Neither team could find the winner in overtime, though both
sides had opportunites with each team taking five shots in the
extra 20 minutes.
It was a physical contest with the referees handing out six
yellow cards and a calling a total of 25 fouls.
Bentley's record goes to 3-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in NE-10
play, while the Skyhawks go to 3-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the
league.
The Falcons return to the field on Tuesday afternoon for a 4:00
p.m. match at NYIT.
