WALTHAM, Mass. – A late touchdown pass from Mark Waid to Pat Damon, immediately followed by a safety, allowed the Bentley football team to edge past Franklin Pierce, 12-10, Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons trailed 10-3 midway through the fourth quarter when the defense forced the Ravens to go three-and-out. Bentley took over on Franklin Pierce's 48-yard line and began to march down the field. The drive began with a seven-yard completion to Abel Lopes Jr., and then Waid totaled 15 yards between consecutive carries.

Following an incomplete pass, Waid carried the ball two more times for a total of nine yards.

On second-and-seven from the Raven's 17-yard line, Waid connected with Pat Damon on a 17-yard touchdown pass to tie the score, 10-10.

Franklin Pierce lost the ensuing kickoff when Nick Pucillo forced a fumble. Although the Ravens recovered the ball, it was back in their own end zone. Joey Disalvo and Mathieu Severance were there to ensure the safety, giving the Falcons a 12-10 lead.

Bentley got the ball back with just under four minutes left in the game, and it earned a couple of first downs to lead the team into victory formation.

In terms of total yards per game, the Falcons and Ravens entered Saturday's game as the Northeast-10's top two offensive teams. However, it was just a 3-0 game at halftime (Franklin Pierce's lead). Bentley finally got on the board midway through the third quarter when Mason Campbell hit a 39-yard field goal.

Waid finished the game with 128 rushing yards on 33 carries, and he threw for 112 yards. Lopes had a team-high four catches.

Defensively, three Falcons recorded a sack: Salvatore Lupoli Jr., Joe Rivers, and AJ Norton-Jefferson.

Bentley returns home for Senior Day Saturday, Nov. 4, when the Falcons host Assumption for a 12 p.m. kickoff.
