Ambroult & Men's Relays Lead Bentley During Day 2 of Northeast-10 Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – The highest finishes for the Bentley University men's and women's track teams during the Northeast-10 Conference Championships with a pair of third-place finishes.

Junior Lucy Anbroult (Holbrook/Holbrook HS) captured the bronze in the 60 meter dash with her time of 7.99 seconds second best in program history, trailing only the school record 7.97 she recorded earlier this season.

The men's 4x800 relay team led much of the way before being overtaken down the stretch by American International. Junior Matthew Chicko (North Andover/North Andover HS) and freshman Ryan Orr (Stonington, Conn./Stonington HS) combined with seniors Brice Tolan (Abington/Abington HS) and Jack Deehan (Westwood/Westwood HS) for a 7:48.37, fourth best in program history.

Bentley's 4x400 relay also ran well with its 3:29.03 the program's fastest in 12 years and ninth best in school history. Both the 4x400 and the 4x800 moved to sixth on the NCAA Division II East Region list. Junior Evan Bean (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa HS) led off and was followed by sophomores Alex Lawes (Brick, N.J./Brick Township HS), Andrew Goehrig (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) and Hayden Pike (South Weymouth/Weymouth HS).

Bentley was fifth in both 800 meter races, Deehan for the men in 1:56.99 and sophomore Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) for the women in 2:20.18.

Senior Audrey Christo (Belmont/Belmont HS) was sixth in the 3000 with her 10:55.96 a personal best by 4.40 seconds, and senior Hannah Greene (Weston, Conn./Weston HS) tied for sixth in the high jump (4'11.5").

In the women's 4x400, the Falcons were seventh in 11:83.43. Running that race were senior Samantha Martel (North Reading/North Reading HS), Christo and freshmen Gracie Pointer (Ely, Minn./Ely Memorial HS) and Leesil Gibert (Cohasset/Cohasset HS). Martel also placed ninth in the mile with a persona best 6:00.59.

Tolan was fifth in the mile (4:25.56), Chicki followed in eighh (4:38.73). Another eighth-place showing came from freshman Max Lampe (North Haven, Conn./Salisbury School) in the 3,000 with his 9:04.68 a new personal best by nearly 18 seconds.

The Bentley men finished seventh among nine teams with 23 points and the women were ninth of ten with 17.

Bentley will close out the indoor season next Sunday at the Boston University Last Chance Meet.
