Springfield, Mass. –
Libby Harrison scored with 9:42 left to play to lift the Bentley field hockey team to a 1-0 road victory against American International on Tuesday night.
The Falcons won their second straight game and improved to 2-1 in the Northeast-10 and 3-5 overall.
Bentley dominated throughout as they outshot the Yellow Jackets 20-5 overall and 16-3 with shots on goal. They had 17 penalty corners to two for AIC.
Harrison's goal came off of one of those penalty corners.
The ball was played in by
McKenzie Carey to the top of the circle to
Hannah Blomquist. Blomquist then fed a short pass over to
Isabella Tuccio who put a shot on goal that was saved by the AIC goalie, but Harrison was there on the doorstep to tip-in the rebound.
Falcons goalie
Mia Trottie made three saves to earn the win and the shutout.
Bentley will go for a third straight win on Saturday when they visit Molloy.
