Bentley Falls to UNH in Overtime 2-1

Durham, N.H. – UNH's Nick Ring scored 2:06 into overtime to give them a 2-1 victory over Bentley on Saturday night.

Falcons goalie Connor Hasley made 26 saves on the night.

The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead 6:41 into the first period on a goal by Ryan Conmy. But later in the period the Falcons leveled the score when Nik Armstrong-Kingkade lit the lamp with a shorthanded goal.

Defenseman Colton Cameron began the play with a dump-in into Bentley's offensive zone. Kellan Hjartarson tracked down the puck behind the goal line and hit Armstrong-Kingkade in front of the net. Armstrong-Kingkade made a quick move and beat UNH goalie Jared Whale with a quick shot to the glove side.

From that point on the team's battled back-and-forth but neither side scored during the rest of regulation.

Bentley had a 9-6 edge in shots in the second period and UNH had an 11-3 edge in the 3rd period.

In the 3-on-3 overtime UNH went on the power 45 seconds into the period, and they cashed in on Ring's goal at the 2:06 mark.

Bentley will next take on Long Island University in a two-game series at Bentley Arena starting next Friday night.
