Waltham, Mass. – Bentley and LIU played to a 1-1 draw at Bentley Arena on Friday in the first game of two-game series.
After regulation ended 1-1 and the five minute, three-on-three overtime did not yield a winner, LIU won a five-round shootout, 1-0.
Bentley's goal came from sophomore forward
Ryan Mansfield at 10:27 of the 1
st period.
Peter Kramer won a battle for the puck in the neutral zone and fed a pass forward to Mansfield.
Mansfield broke into the offensive zone and fired a shot from the left face-off circle that beat LIU goalie Daniel Duris to the short side.
LIU tied the score at 18:46 of the 2
nd period on a goal by Issac Lambert off a rebound.
Bentley outshot the Sharks 26-15 on the night.
The teams will meet again on Saturday at 7:00 pm.
