Lawrence’s 89th Minute Goal Earns Bentley a 1-1 Draw at Southern Conn.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman Heidi Lawrence scored a dramatic goal in the 89th minute to earn Bentley a 1-1 draw at Southern Connecticut on Friday night.

Lawrence's goal was assisted by Gabby Vachon and pulled the Falcons level with 1:19 left on the clock.

After a scoreless first half, the host Owls took the lead in the 55th minute on a goal by Sydney Myers, her sixth of the season.

Both teams produced a high volume of shots on the night, at 16 each. Shots on goal were 8-7 for the Falcons.

Falcons keeper Claire Ewen made six saves.

Bentley is now 4-3-5 overall and 1-2-3 in the NE10. Their next game is Tuesday at home against Southern New Hampshire.
