WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley advanced to the semifinals of the Northeast 10 Women's Soccer Championship with a 1-0 victory over Saint Michael's in the quarterfinals on Sunday.
First year forward 
Heidi Lawrence scored the goal with a blistering strike in the 9
th minute for the fourth seeded Falcons.
Bentley's suffocating defense did the rest as they blanked the Purple Knights for their fourth straight clean sheet.
The goal came from an attack started by 
Sydney O'Connor in Bentley's end of the field. O'Connor played a pass to 
Abi Hennessey who made a run down the left wing. Hennessey then spotted Lawrence making a run behind the play. Lawrence ran onto the pass and fired a shot from 15 yards that ripped into the far post.
Falcons goalie 
Claire Ewen made a key save on Sarah Gormley in the 61
st minute to keep the Falcons in front.
Ewen finished with three saves to earn her 8
th win of the season.
The Falcons have won four straight and improved to 8-3-6 overall.
They advanced to the NE10 semifinals on Thursday where they will meet the top seed Adelphi in Garden City, N.Y. Kickoff time is to be announced.
