Bentley Sweeps AIC Behind Hasley’s Shutout

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley defeated AIC 3-0 on Saturday night to sweep the Yellow Jackets. Junior goaltender Connor Hasley notched his second shutout of the season.

The Falcons improved to 7-4-1 overall and 6-2 in Atlantic Hockey. They've won seven of their last nine games and are 3-1 so far on their six game home stand.

Nik Armstrong-Kingkade scored two goals in the third period and defensemen Nick Bochen scored in the 2nd period.

The first 25 minutes of game time were scoreless until Bochen's fourth goal of the season at the 5:23 mark, which came from a shot just inside the blue line and above the right faceoff circle. Artem Buzoverya and Jimmy Doyle had the assists.

Bentley then grabbed a 2-0 lead at 7:24 of the 3rd period. Ethan Leyh had an initial shot from close range that was saved but Armstrong-Kingkade was there in front of the net to score off the rebound.

AIC then pulled its goalie with 2:46 remaining to try to make a comeback, but Bentley put the game away when Armstrong-Kingkade scored on the empty net from the neutral zone to make it 3-0.

Hasley's 25 save shutout is the fifth shutout of his career. That moves him into a tie for second most in program history, with Branden Komm '14.

Next up for the Falcons is a series against Air Force beginning next Friday to conclude the six game homestand.
