Bentley Keeps Rolling with 2-0 Victory Over Air Force

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley won its third straight game, posted its second straight shutout and has won six out of its last seven after a 2-0 victory over Air Force on Friday night.

Ryan Upson scored in the first period and Artem Buzoverya notched his first goal as a Falcon in the second frame.

Connor Hasley made 26 stops for his second straight shutout and third of the season. He's now tied with Simon St. Pierre '05 for the most shutouts in program history.

Bentley grabbed a 1-0 lead at 10:23 of the opening period when Ryan Upson tipped in a shot in front of the net for the goal. The shot came from Buzoverya from the point.

Buzoverya, a grad transfer from Hobart, then gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead with his goal at 18:06 of the 2nd period.

Hard work along the boards by A.J. Hodges in the defensive zone freed the puck for Buzoverya, who broke into the offensive zone down the left wing. He wrapped around the cage and poked his shot past Guy Blessing to light the lamp.

Air Force pulled Blessing with 3:34 remaining in the 3rd period, but Bentley held firm and secured the shutout. Bentley blocked five shots during the final 3:34 and Hasley made five saves.

Bentley, now 8-4-1 and 7-2 in Atlantic Hockey, will go for the sweep on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
