Bentley Defeats Pace 3-2; Will Face Adelphi in NE10 Quarterfinals

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Gracie Moore scored a tiebreaking goal early in the 4th quarter to help Bentley to a 3-2 road victory over Pace in the regular season finale on Saturday.

The Falcons will travel to Adelphi in the NE10 Championship quarterfinals on Monday. Game time will be 6:00 pm. Bentley will be the No. 5 seed and Adelphi the No. 4 seed.

The teams took turns scoring two unanswered goals. Bentley's came in the 1st and 2nd quarters and Pace's came early in the 4th frame.

Bentley took a 1-0 lead on a penalty stroke goal by Emily Crowell. It was her second straight game with a penalty stroke goal after she scored the game winner in Tuesday night's win at Franklin Pierce.

1:02 into the second quarter, Lida Coco notched her third goal of the year to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead.

Bentley led 2-0 at halftime and after the third quarter as well. The goalkeeper combo of Erin McGuinness and Mia Trottie combined to make seven saves through 45 minutes.

Pace though notched a goal 40 seconds into the 4th quarter off the stick of Bella Basulto. And just under two minutes later the Setters converted a penalty stroke goal from Krista Dietz to tie the score 2-2.

But just 28 seconds later, Moore scored a clutch goal to put the Falcons back in front.

Off a penalty corner, Bentley worked the ball from the top of the circle to Libby Harrison on the right. Harrison then slid a pass to Moore, who quickly fired to the near post to give Bentley the lead.

The goal was Moore's 5th of the season.

Bentley finished the regular season with records of 10-8 overall and 9-4 in the NE10.
