WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley won its final home meet of the fall semester with a 147-91 triumph over Keene State on Sunday.
The Falcons improved to 4-1 in dual meets this season.
Bentley got off to a strong start when the quartet of Matt Walden,
Thomas Miele,
Daniel Ivanchikov and
Andrew Matjucha won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:41.42.
The Falcons claimed the top four spots in the 1000 free. Freshman
Jack Meekins was first at 10:46.20, followed by
Joey Twomey,
Jake Bender and
Tyler Marzano.
The 200 free was all Falcons as well. Matjucha was first at 1:50.52, followed by
Casey Whittaker and
Stephen Calabro.
Ivanchikov set a meet record in the 100 back with a time of 53.91. He was followed by Walden, Kenny Ryu and
Ryan Fogel.
Miele won the 100 breaststroke, with his time of 1:02.65 just over two seconds better than teammate
Patrick Tarka.
Bentley claimed the top-three spots in the 200 fly, which was won by
Leighton Wielgoszinski in 2:01.49. He was followed by Zach Ellis and
Scott Kessel.
Freshman
Ethan Rehkopf won the 50 free in 21.93.
The 200 backstroke was the most exciting of the meet as Falcons
Alex Yurkewicz and Danny Lehr tied for first with identical times of 2:02.44. Walden was not far behind at all in third at 2:04.97.
Ryu cruised to a win in the 200 breaststroke by almost ten seconds at 2:18.45.
Bentley will next be in action Dec. 6-8 at the WPI Gompei Invitational for their final action of the fall semester.
