WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley had its three-game winning streak snapped by RIT by a 6-2 score at Bentley Arena on Saturday night.
The Falcons started fast with two goals in the first 2:24 but couldn't maintain it as RIT split the series.
Ethan Leyh scored just 24 seconds into the game to give Bentley the early lead.
Stephen Castagna fed Leyh a sharp pass from above the faceoff dots and Leyh one-timed it home for the goal.
Exactly two minutes later
Chase Davis notched his second goal of the series.
Davis started the play with an outlet pass from the defensive zone to
Artem Buzoverya. As Buzoverya skated into the offensive zone Davis hustled to trail the play and crashed the net. As he did that, Buzoverya feathered a pass that Davis redirected in for the goal.
RIT got a power play goal from Christian Catalano with 1:23 left in the period to cut Bentley's lead to 2-1.
The Tigers then tied it 2:40 into the second period on a goal by Matt Wilde.
In the latter stages of the second frame, RIT scored three times in 2:10 to take a 5-2 lead.
Bentley dropped to 4-2 in Atlantic Hockey and 5-4-1 overall.
The homestand continues next weekend with a series against AIC.
