Five Different Goal Scorers Lift Bentley to 5-1 Win in NE10 Opener

Sparkill, N.Y. – Five different players scored as Bentley won at Saint Thomas Aquinas 5-1 on Saturday in the first NE10 game of the season.

McKenzie Carey, Libby Harrison, Meagan Hayes, Hannah Blomquist and Lida Coco all scored as the Falcons rolled to their second straight win.

Senior goalie Erin McGuinness made 12 saves, just two off her career high of 14.

Carey scored with just 18 seconds left in the first quarter for a 1-0 lead, and her second tally in as many games.

The Falcons then wasted little time in adding a second goal, as Harrison found the back of the cage just 58 seconds into the second quarter.

Hayes scored at the 23:11 mark to give Bentley a commanding 3-0 lead.

The Spartans pulled a goal back in the fourth quarter, at the 50:01 mark to make it a 3-1 game, but the Falcons weren't done scoring.

Blomquist scored at 56:51 and Coco just over a minute later to provide the final 5-1 margin.

The Falcons will go for a third straight win on Wednesday night when they are back at home against Saint Anselm.
