WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley dropped a 5-1 decision to Holy Cross on Saturday night at Bentley Arena.
The Crusaders scored four of their goals in the first period. Freshman Matt Kursonis scored the first two, at the 0:22 and 5:59 marks.
The other two goals came in the later stages of the period. Timothy Heinke scored at 16:00 and Mack Oliphant at 18:44.
Bentley got on the scoreboard at 14:42 of the third period with a power play goal by
Stephen Castagna.
Ethan Leyh won a battle for the puck along the boards and played it back to
Ryan Mansfield at the point. Mansfield put a shot on net that Castagna tipped in for the goal.
But the Falcons couldn't get any closer and Holy Cross scored an empty net goal with 2:47 remaining.
Bentley (12-10-2, 10-7-1) has a quick turnaround for its next game, which is on Tuesday night at AIC.
