Bevilacqua Outstanding But Bentley Falls to Princeton in OT, 1-0

PRINCETON, N.J. – Nicholas Bevilacqua was outstanding in his first career NCAA start with 20 saves, but Princeton won in overtime over Bentley 1-0 on Sunday.

Brendan Gorman scored 33 seconds into overtime after neither team was able to score in 60 minutes of regulation.

The Falcons outshot Princeton 36-21, including a dominating 15-3 in the third period. They outshot the Tigers 25-10 in the final two periods.

Falcons defenseman Garrett Horsager had a chance on the doorstep in the final seconds of regulation but he wasn't able to get a shot off before the buzzer.

Bevilacqua, a freshman from Abington, Mass., made 10 saves in the first period. He stopped seven in the second frame and three in the third.

The Falcons, now 13-12-2 on the season, are off next weekend. They return to action on Feb. 4 at home against Army West Point.
