GARDEN CITY, N.Y. –
Annie Lorenz made eight saves to help lead Bentley field hockey to a 2-1 road win over #10 ranked Adelphi on Saturday.
Goals were scored in the first half by
Madeline Krepelka and
Gracie Moore as the Falcons improved to 8-5 overall and 6-1 in NE10 games. They have won eight of their last nine contests overall.
The win snapped Adelphi's six game winning streak, who broke into the NFHCA poll this week at #10.
Krepelka scored with just six seconds left in the opening quarter to give Bentley a 1-0 lead, with her sixth goal of 2025.
Late in the second quarter Moore notched her team leading ninth goal of the year to double the Falcons' lead. Moore now has 23 points in the last nine matchups.
Adelphi scored 3:13 into the second half to cut the deficit to 2-1 with the goal coming from Jody Van Aardt.
But Lorenz was at her best in the second half with seven saves as the Falcons closed out the win on the road.
Next up the Falcons are back at home on Tuesday against AIC at 6:00 pm for the first of two home games next week.
