WALTHAM, Mass. – A 55
th minute goal by
Abi Hennessey secured a 1-0, Senior Day win for Bentley women's soccer over Southern Connecticut State.
The goal started from a free kick in Bentley's defensive end near the center line.
Evelyn Beers sent a long pass from the center line over the top of SCSU's defense and into the 18-yard box.
Hennessey chased it down on the near post before the SCSU keeper could get to it and she chipped a shot over her head for the goal.
Leading 1-0, Bentley closed out the remaining 35 minutes to secure the victory.
They improved to 5-4-3 overall and 2-2-1 in NE10 games.
Goalkeeper
Holly DiPalo, one of the four-student athletes honored on Senior Day, made three saves for Bentley's fifth shutout of the season.
