Bentley Delivers 1-0 Senior Day Win over Southern Connecticut State

WALTHAM, Mass. – A 55th minute goal by Abi Hennessey secured a 1-0, Senior Day win for Bentley women's soccer over Southern Connecticut State.

The goal started from a free kick in Bentley's defensive end near the center line. Evelyn Beers sent a long pass from the center line over the top of SCSU's defense and into the 18-yard box.

Hennessey chased it down on the near post before the SCSU keeper could get to it and she chipped a shot over her head for the goal.

Leading 1-0, Bentley closed out the remaining 35 minutes to secure the victory.

They improved to 5-4-3 overall and 2-2-1 in NE10 games.

Goalkeeper Holly DiPalo, one of the four-student athletes honored on Senior Day, made three saves for Bentley's fifth shutout of the season.

Prior to the game Bentley's Senior Class was honored in the Senior Day ceremony. DiPalo, fellow team captain Megan Daly, goalkeeper Allison Jeter and Abby Flynn were recognized.

Next up for the Falcons is a road game at Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
