WALTHAM, Mass. – Elizabeth Blinn finished with seven blocks, and 
Sophia Poehlein had a match-high 12 kills as the Bentley volleyball team topped American International, 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-19), Saturday afternoon. It was the 12
th consecutive win for Bentley, while AIC's win streak ends at eight.
The middle of the second set hinted that the Falcons (16-4, 6-0 NE10) and Yellow Jackets (12-4, 4-1 NE10) were headed to another one of their classic rivalry matchups. AIC was trying to bounce back from the opening frame when it held a 17-13 lead in the second. But a kill by Poehlein started a 5-0 run for Bentley as the Falcons claimed an 18-17 lead.
The teams went back and forth down the stretch, and AIC held a 23-21 lead. The Yellow Jackets were positioned to even things up at one set apiece. But a service error by AIC was the first of four consecutive points for Bentley. 
Lulu Pavan served the Falcons to the following three points to win the second set, 25-23.
Bentley finished with a .253 hitting percentage, while limiting AIC to .181.
Saturday was the final home match of the regular season for Bentley. The Falcons are scheduled for six consecutive road contests, starting wit Assumption Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m.
