WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley volleyball team is in the midst of a 14-match winning streak, and there's no sign of slowing down. The Falcons have a non-conference match at Bridgeport Thursday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. Bentley returns to Northeast 10 action at Pace Saturday, Nov. 1, at 12 p.m.
 
The streak
Bentley's winning streak started Sept. 19 with a 3-0 win over Molloy during the East Region Clash hosted by American International. The Falcons have eight 3-0 wins during the streak, and only one match reached five sets (vs. Mercy, Oct. 7). Bentley's longest winning streak of 2024 was 12 matches, and the team had a 14-match winning streak in 2023.
 
On a weekly basis
Earlier this week, 
Sophia Poehlein was name the NE10 Player of the Week, and 
Tory Vitko was named the NE10 Setter of the Week. For Poehlein, it was her third NE10 Player of the Week honor of the season. Vitko earned her sixth NE10 Setter of the Week award this fall. Five Falcons have combined for 16 NE10 weekly honors this season.
 
Spooky efficient
Bentley's most recent match was a sweep at Southern New Hampshire (Oct. 24). The Falcons hit .439 in the contest, marking the program's best single-match attack percentage in more than 15 years.
 
Simply elite
Elizabeth Blinn is averaging 1.65 blocks per set, which currently ranks second in NCAA DII. Blinn has either been first or second in the nation for a majority of the season.
 
Among NE10 leaders
Sophia Poehlein ranks second in the NE10 for kills per set (3.64), and 
Tory Vitko ranks second for assists per set (9.30). Of course, 
Elizabeth Blinn is the conference leader for blocks per set (1.65). Bentley's defensive efforts lead the NE10 with a conference-best .118 opponent hitting percentage.
Scouting Bridgeport (7-13)
The Purple Knights are heating up in October. They have won four consecutive matches, including three consecutive sweeps. Bridgeport has a 6-2 record in October, after going 1-11 in September. Hailey Jessen leads the team with 3.53 kills per set, and Madison Mohan averages 2.63 kills per set. As a team, Bridgeport hits at a .174 mark, and it is allowing opponents to hit .202.  Bentley beat Bridgeport, 3-1, earlier this season in the East Region Clash (Sept. 20).
 
Scouting Pace (9-8, 1-5 NE10)
The Setters recently snapped a five-match losing streak with a four-set win over Southern New Hampshire. Kadence Ackmann has a team-leading 2.78 kills per set, and Emily Cineus averages an even 1.00 block per set. Pace has a .156 hitting percentage, and it is holding opponents to a .155 mark.
