Goal by Matthews and Strong Defense Give Bentley 1-0 Win at Assumption

WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman Olivia Matthews scored in the second minute and a strong defensive effort protected the lead to give Bentley a 1-0 victory at Assumption on Wednesday night.

The goal by Matthews in just the second minute was assisted by Sydney DeRoche to give Bentley an early 1-0 lead.

A strong defensive effort by the team then protected the lead the rest of the way. Goalkeeper Holly DiPalo made six saves to earn her third win of the season, all of which have shutouts.

DiPalo made three saves in each half.

Bentley improved to 3-4-2 overall and 1-2-1 NE10 with the victory. Their next game is on Saturday against D'Youville on Yetten Field at 7:00 pm.
