Double-doubles by Poehlein, Vitko lead Bentley to 16th consecutive win

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Sophia Poehlein and Tory Vitko both notched a double-double, and the Bentley volleyball team won its 16th consecutive match with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-22) victory at Pace Saturday afternoon. With the victory, Bentley (20-4, 8-0 NE10) locked in the #1 seed for the Northeast 10 Championship.

Poehlein, a three-time recipient of NE10 Player of the Week this season, totaled 14 kills and 12 digs against the Setters (9-9, 1-6 NE10). Vitko, a six-time NE10 Setter of the Week recipient this fall, had 36 assists and 12 digs.

It was the third double-double of the season for Poehlein, and the eighth for Vitko.

Erica Borzone had a team-high 13 digs in the win, and Elizabeth Blinn added six blocks in the three sets. Bentley's defensive efforts held pace to a .068 hitting percentage. The Falcons lead all NE10 teams in opponent hitting percentage this season (.113).

Bentley next takes on Saint Anselm Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Manchester, N.H. at 7 p.m.
