WALTHAM, Mass. – The No. 10 Bentley women's basketball team enters the 2025-26 season with many new faces, but the program's elite standard remains the same.
The new season begins in the Southern Connecticut Tipoff, Nov. 15-16. Bentley takes on Mercy and Georgian Court for the opening games of the year.
Senior point guard
Cassidy Yeomans and junior guard
Niya Morgen highlight Bentley's returners from last year's team that won the program's fourth consecutive Northeast 10 title. Bentley also won the NCAA DII East Regional title in 2024-25.
Yeomans has been a staple in Bentley's rotation since her freshman season, when she averaged more than 20 minutes per game in 2022-23. Through the past two seasons, Yeomans has started 66 of 68 games.
Similarly to Yeomans, Morgen made an immediate impact as a freshman. She averaged just over 20 minutes per game in 2023-24, with each of her appearances coming off the bench. Morgen continued to exclusively come off the bench her sophomore season, but her playing time increased to more than 25 minutes per game. She averaged 10.9 points per game in 2024-25, while shooting a ridiculous 47.4-percent from 3-point range.
Morgen was named to the All-NE10 Second Team last year.
This year's Falcon team also returns a couple of senior bigs in
Julia Elie and
Ciara Norman. Both averaged more than 10 minutes per game last year. Two years ago, Norman was named the NE10 Tournament MVP.
Sophomore forwardÂ
Brennan Doran is projected to crack the starting lineup to open the season, and Bentley head coach
C White is expecting forward
Mikela Cooper to make significant strides in her senior season.
Among Bentley's new faces is junior transfer
Kayana Armbrister. The Hyde Park, Mass. native returns to her home state after previously playing at the NCAA DI level at Florida Atlantic and Tennessee-Martin.
Freshman
Ava Orlando is expected to run the point when Yeomans needs to catch her breath, and the pair might even play together in certain matchups.
Coach White is also excited about freshman
Cherish Bryant, whose speed will immediately test opponents on both ends of the floor.
In all, Bentley has six new players on its roster of 17.
The Falcons topped this year's NE10 Coaches Preseason Poll, meaning that Bentley is favored to capture its fifth consecutive NE10 title. The Falcons are also ranked No. 10 in the nation in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Preseason Poll.
Bentley's first conference game of the season is at Southern New Hampshire, Nov. 19. The home-opener in the newly renovated Dana Center is Dec. 6 against Saint Michael's. Bentley hosts Holy Family in a rematch of the NCAA DII East Regional Championship game, Dec. 21.
