CALDWELL, N.J. – Five Falcons scored in double figures as the No. 24 Bentley men's basketball team picked up its first win of the season with an 84-71 win at Caldwell Saturday. The game was part of the CACC/NE10 Challenge.
Bentley (1-1) was sharp from distance, connecting on 12 of 26 attempts (46.2-percent) from beyond the arc. The Falcons were 8-for-13 from 3-point range in the first half, taking the Falcons into halftime with a 46-37 lead.
The Falcons were not only outstanding on the perimeter, but they dominated on the boards, 48-33.
Cash McClure and
Cooper Farrall were Bentley's top scorers against Caldwell – both recorded 17 points. Farrall made it his first double-double of the season by pulling down 11 rebounds. McClure added six assists and six boards.
Ivan Misic shot 4-for-5 from 3-point range on his way to a 15-point performance.
Mantas Zilys scored 13 points off the bench, and
Osiris Nalls added 10 points.
The only time Caldwell held a lead when it scored the game's first points with a couple of free-throws. Midway through the first half, Bentley's lead reached 25-9 when
Joe Carroll hit a 3-pointer.
Bentley opened the second half with a 9-2 run. Farrall accounted for seven points during that run, showing off his offensive game by scoring in the paint multiple times and hitting a 3-pointer.
Bentley's next game is at Southern New Hampshire (non-conference) Wednesday, Nov. 19. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
