WALTHAM, Mass. – The No. 21 Bentley women's basketball team returns to New York Tuesday, Dec. 2, for a non-conference game at Molloy. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Â
They can make it anywhere
Bentley's first New York trip this season was just one week ago, when the Falcons dominated College of Staten Island, 64-41.
Niya Morgen scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds.Â
Kayana Armbrister had a game-high nine rebounds to go with 13 points, andÂ
Brennan Doran finished with nine points and seven rebounds. Bentley has won 11 consecutive games in the Empire State, dating back to the 2022-23 season.
Â
Dangerous on defense
Bentley's scoring defense leads the Northeast 10, as the Falcons are allowing only 51.5 points per game this season. That's due in large part to forcing the opposition into 20 turnovers per game.
Â
Take care
Bentley's 1.48 assist-to-turnover ratio leads the NE10 by a wide margin.
Niya Morgen averages 3.0 assists and 0.5 turnovers, meaning that she holds a 6.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. No other NE10 players has a ratio better than 2.3.
Â
Confident as ever
Niya Morgen opened the season by shooting 25.0-percent (2-for-8) from beyond the arc against Mercy (Nov. 15). Since then, Morgen is shooting 52.3-percent (11-for-21) over the past three games.
Â
Stepping up
Junior transfer
Kayana Armbrister began her Bentley career by totaling only 10 points in her first two games. Since then, however, Armbrister scored 15 points at Southern New Hampshire (Nov. 19), and 13 points at College of Staten Island (Nov. 25).
Â
Scouting Molloy (2-6)
As a team, Molloy is shooting 36.6-percent from the floor, and 26.1-percent from 3-point range. Colleen McCullagh is the team's leading scorer with 17.6 points per game, and Sophia Yearwood is averaging 13.3 points. Sharmeela Ugbogdo is Molloy's leading rebounder, averaging 8.0 per game.
