Bentley aims to build off strong start to NE10 slate, hosts Saint Michael's Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. – After winning its conference-opener at Southern New Hampshire, the Bentley men's basketball team continues its Northeast 10 slate at home when the Falcons take on Saint Michael's Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m.

Holding the lead
The Falcons never trailed in their conference-opening win at Southern New Hampshire this week (Dec. 3). Bentley set the tone early by starting the game with a 10-run on its way to a 72-60 victory.

Cash it in
Cash McClure is just 15 points shy of reaching 1,000 career points. He will be the 59th Falcon in program history to reach the millennial mark.

Beasts on the boards
Bentley is one of only two conference teams with two players averaging eight or more rebounds. Cooper Farrall averages 8.8 rebounds per game, and Chase Clarke averages 8.3. Farrall has three double-doubles this season, and Clarke has two.

Take what's free
Bentley's 79.3 free-throw percentage is second in the NE10, narrowly trailing Saint Michael's mark of 80.6-percent. Cash McClure's 88.9 free-throw percentage is fourth in the conference.

High class underclassmen
Sophomores Mantas Zilys and Jordan Elliott, and redshirt sophomore Osiris Nalls have had big roles so far this season. Nalls was named the NE10 Rookie of the Week following the first week of the season. He is averaging 10.5 points per game so far. Zilys has scored in double figures three times, including a high of 17 against Assumption (Nov. 25). Elliott has started all six games. The point guard had eight assists in the season-opener against Dominican (N.Y.) (Nov. 14), and he followed that with nine assists against Caldwell (Nov. 15).

Sharp eye
Ivan Misic is shooting 47.8-percent from 3-point range, ranking third in the NE10. He shot 44.0-percent from distance in over 100 attempts last season.

Scouting Saint Michael's (2-4, 0-1 NE10)
Nobody on the Purple Knights averages double-digits in scoring, but the opportunities are balanced. Seven players average more than 7.0 points per game (min. six games). Quintin Floyd leads the group with a scoring average of 9.2, and Zocko Littleton closely follows with 9.0 points per game. Greg Kenney is Saint Michael's top rebounder, averaging 7.5 boards per game. While the team has the conference's top touch from the free-throw line, it is shooting 40.3-percent from the floor and 30.6-percent from 3-point range.
