Box Score 2 RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Bentley softball team rallied for six runs in the seventh inning, and three Falcons had multiple hits en route to a 10-7 win at Felician in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader Friday. Bentley lost the first game, 3-1.
Bentley entered the seventh frame of the second game in 7-4 deficit, but
Becca Harris got the winning rally started with a leadoff single. She moved into scoring position on a passed ball, and a single by
Jess Morrison put runners on the corners with nobody out.
Maddie Baker hit grounder to shortstop, but an error allowed Harris to score as everyone was safe on the play. After Morrison stole third base,
Carly DiMento put down a great squeeze bunt to score Morrison and bring the Falcons to within 7-6.
Ella Bunovsky reached base on an error by the pitcher, and she promptly stole second base. Baker stayed at third base on both plays.
Baker came in to score the tying run on yet another Felician error, this time off the bat of
Katie Welch. Bulla Burke delivered the go-ahead run with an RBI single, and
Jordan Krause drove in two more runs by smacking a triple.
Krause drove in three runs in all, starting with a sac fly in the first inning.
Hailer Feiler, Harris, and DiMento each came away with two hits in the game.
Breelin McDougal earned the win by pitching 4.2 innings out of the bullpen without allowing an earned run.
Riley Piromalli got the save in the seventh inning.
Piromalli got the start in the first game against Felician, and she was locked in a pitchers' duel. The game was scoreless until Felician broke through with two runs on two hits in the fourth inning.
Bentley got its only run in the seventh inning on an RBI groundout by
Alexa Gross.
The Falcons have a doubleheader at Adelphi Saturday, March 22, at 12 p.m.
