WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley softball team prepares for the program's sixth consecutive postseason appearance, as Adelphi awaits the Falcons in Garden City, N.Y. for the Northeast 10 Championship first-round matchup Tuesday, May 5, at 2 p.m.

As the #7 seed, Bentley (19-33, 13-22 NE10) needs to beat #2 Adelphi (33-19, 27-9 NE10) twice Tuesday afternoon. The Panthers need to win just once in order to advance in the NE10 Championship.

Bentley and Adelphi split their regular-season series this spring, with Bentley hosting all four games (April 17-18). Taylor Zajac earned two complete-game wins in the series. She allowed only one earned run through 14.0 innings in the circle (0.50 ERA).

Becca Harris hit .636 (7-for-11) against Adelphi, and Bella Burke hit .600 (6-for-10) while scoring five runs that series. Michelle Diaz went 5-for-10 with three RBI against the Panthers. What's more, Jess Morrison belted her second home run of the season that weekend.

The Falcons opened their 2026 NE10 schedule with 13 losses in their first 18 conference games. However, Bentley kicked it into gear starting the second week of April. The Falcons put together a 14-game stretch in which they won nine games, which was just enough to grab the final seed of the NE10 Championship.

Burke enters the postseason as Bentley's leading hitter (.336), leader in OPS (.925), and top run scorer (29). She is tied with Maddie Baker for the team lead in doubles (11).

Carly DiMento and Emma Callahan are tied for the team lead in home runs (3). DiMento has a team-high 26 RBI, while Callahan has 25 RBI.

Zajac carries a 3.13 ERA into the postseason, which ranks sixth among NE10 pitchers with at least 100.0 IP. Zajac has worked 120.2 innings in the circle so far this season.

Maddie Pickett had a strong finish to the regular season. Through her last four appearances (14.0 IP), Pickett allowed only four earned runs (2.00 ERA).

Adelphi's Jenna Plue has a 2.87 ERA through 165.2 innings this season. She beat Bentley twice during the April series in Waltham.
