GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - #25 ranked Bentley split a doubleheader at Adelphi on Sunday to complete its weekend swing through New York.
The Falcons dropped the first game 5-3 but rebounded with an 8-4 victory in the second game.
In the game two win
Brendan Sencaj went 3-5 with three RBI and
Parker Coleman knocked in two runs.
With the game tied 3-3 in the top of the 6
th, Sencaj blasted a three-run homerun to give Bentley a 6-3 lead with his seventh homer of the season.
In the top of the 7
th Coleman singled to left to drive in
Curt Heath and
Jimmy Mitchell to pad Bentley's lead to 8-3.
Tommy Orie pitched four innings of relief to earn the win. He allowed just two hits in four innings of work.
In game one Bentley jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a solo home run by
Jared Berardino in the 2
nd inning and a two-run single by Mitchell in the 4
th.
But Adelphi plated two runs in its half of the 4
th and three runs in the 5
th to take a 5-3 lead.
Bentley (16-8, 5-2 NE10) will next play on March 29 when they host Franklin Pierce for a doubleheader.
