WALTHAM, Mass. – Former Bentley University guard and women's basketball team captain
Julia Ford, a 2020 graduate, is serving as an assistant coach with the USA Basketball 3x3 Development Program this summer. The team is currently in Marseille, France for the FIBA Women's Series 2025.
Ford is in her first year as an assistant coach at Grand Canyon University after filling the same role at Missouri last season. Her resume since earning her Bentley degree also includes time as a graduate assistant at Clemson, an assistant coach at Coastal Carolina, and as a special assistant to the head coach at Missouri.
During her six years of coaching, Ford has been known for her player development skills as well as ability to coach defense.
This isn't her first involvement with USA Basketball. She's worked with a number of teams, including the 2016 Olympic team, the 2019 U16 the, the 2021 U19 team and the 2021 AmeriCup team.
Ford, a native of Charlton, Mass., played in 89 games during her four years playing for Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame coach Barbara Stevens at Bentley (2016-20). She was a co-captain of the 2018-19 and 2019-20 teams.
