WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley and Assumption went back and forth in a 2-2 draw on Thursday in the home opener for the women's soccer team.
Sydney DeRoche and
McKay Pratt scored for the Falcons.
All four goals in the match were scored in the final 28-plus minutes.
Assumption took the lead on a goal by freshman Elizabeth Schoeneberger in the 62
nd minute and their lead stood for the next 11 minutes.
But the Falcons then responded with two goals less than three minutes apart.
McKay, a sophomore, tied the match in the 73
rd minute with her first career goal. As the Greyhounds were attempting to play the ball out from their own end, Pratt intercepted a pass from the Assumption keeper and converted a shot from 15 yards out for the goal.

Emily Ojeikere and
Avery D'Amour setup DeRoche's goal to give Bentley a 2-1 lead.
Ojeikere launched a pass from the right wing to D'Amour in the left corner of Bentley's attacking end. D'Amour then sent a cross into the six-yard box that DeRoche headed in for the goal.
As the clock wound down, Assumption was able to salvage a draw when Lilina Shiers scored with 15 seconds left to tie the game 2-2.
Bentley doubled up Assumption in shots on goal, 14-7.
The Falcons (1-1-1) are back at home on Saturday at 12:00 pm when they host Queens College in a non-conference match.
