WALTHAM, Mass. – Five different players scored as Bentley field hockey kicked off Falcon Weekend with a 5-0 victory over Molloy in its first Northeast 10 game of the season.
Among the goal scorers was freshman
Lilly Cook, who notched her first career goal early in the second quarter.
The Falcons led 2-0 after the opening 5:21 on goals by
Layla Conway, her team leading third of the season, and
Nicole Hartz, her first of the season.
Bentley didn't let its foot off the gas and scored twice in the first 2:16 of the second quarter. Cook scored off an assist from
Nina Husak, and
Gracie Moore added to the tally one minute later.
Senior
McKenzie Carey scored Bentley's fifth goal after she redirected a centering pass on the far post from
Madeline Krepelka. That was Krepelka's second assist of the game.
Bentley outshot the Lions 17-2 overall and did not allow a shot on the cage.
The Falcons will play their next two games on the road, starting on Wednesday at Saint Michael's.
